Foveo gives your funeral home control over:
- How long guests can view a livestream broadcast recording;
- Whether guests see the original recording or a modified-audio version;
- How Family Account Holders are notified before their recording is archived; and
- How an archived recording can be requested later.
This article explains each stage of a livestream recording’s availability—from the end of the live broadcast through long-term archiving.
Recording Access at a Glance
| Audience | How long is the recording routinely available? | What happens afterward? |

- Sign in to Foveo.app using your Funeral Home Admin account.
- In the left menu, select Account.
- Select Settings.
- Scroll down to locate the Recordings section.
- Select the number of days that recordings should remain available to guests, up to a maximum of 30 days.

2. How to Select the Recording Version available to Guests
Your funeral home may also select which version of its broadcast recordings are automatically available for registered guests to view during the Guest Access period.
There are two options:
- Original Audio: The original recording, including the music and all other audio captured during the service.
- Modified Audio: A version in which music the selections have been automatically muted.
The Modified Audio version is designed to help funeral homes manage any potential considerations and obligations associated with copyrighted music. Learn more about music copyright and funeral livestreaming.
To select your funeral home’s default Recording Version:
- Sign in to Foveo.app using a Funeral Home Admin account.
- In the left menu, select Account.
- Select Settings.
- Locate the Recording Version setting in the Recordings section.
- Locate the .
- Select Original Audio or Modified Audio.
- Save your changes.
This setting determines which version is offered to guests to view through your the funeral home’s website. It does not prevent the Family Account Holder or a funeral home from downloading the original recording during the 90-day access period.
If a different Recording Version is required for a particular service, contact directorcare@foveo.org.

3. What Guests See After a Livestream Ends
While the recording is being processed
Immediately after a livestream ends, the recording must be processed before it can be viewed on demand. During this period, guests who return to the Broadcast Page—or to a Tukios obituary page containing the Foveo player—will see:
The livestream broadcast has ended.
Once processed, the recording will be available here.

Processing times can vary depending on the length of the broadcast and the processing required. Guests may return to or refresh the page later to view the recording.
After Guest Access expires
Once the Guest Access period selected by the funeral home has ended, the recording is no longer available to registered guests through the funeral home’s website, Foveo Broadcast Page or Tukios obituary page.
Guests who return to the page will see:
Guest access to the broadcast recording has expired.
Questions? Please contact wecare@foveo.org.
The expiration of Guest Access does not mean the recording has been deleted. The designated Family Account Holder and authorized funeral-home users may continue to view and download it through Foveo until the end of the 90-day Family Account access period.

Guests who wish to obtain viewing access after the guest access period has expired may view the Guest Access page and consider whether they will complete a formal request which Foveo will direct to your funeral home to be coordinated with the next of kin.
4. Family Account Access for 90 Days
The Family Account Holder is the person designated when the livestream is first scheduled. This is typically the next of kin or another family representative.
The Family Account Holder and authorized funeral-home users can view and download the recording in Foveo for 90 days following the broadcast.
To download a recording, the Family Account Holder should:
- Sign in to Foveo.app using the Family Account username and password provided by email.
- Open the livestream details.
- Locate the recording.
- Select Download beneath the video player.
- Save the MP4 file to a computer, external drive or secure cloud-storage account.
We strongly recommend that families download and safely preserve their own copy during this 90-day period.
For additional instructions, see How to View or Download a Recording.
5. Automatic Messages Sent Before a Recording is Archived
Foveo automatically sends email messages to the designated Family Account Holder during their 90-day access period. The funeral home’s Foveo Admin also receives the applicable archive reminder messages so staff know when the family’s routine access is approaching its end.
A. When the livestream is scheduled
The Family Account Holder receives an email confirming that the livestream has been scheduled.
This message includes:
- The livestream details;
- Information the family can share with invited guests;
- The Family Account Holder’s Foveo sign-in information; and
- Notice that the recording will be available for the family to view and download for 90 days following the broadcast.

B. After the Livestream Broadcast (Day 1)

The message:
- Thanks them for asking you to livestream the ceremony;
- Confirms the recording is available; and
- Reminds them to sign in to Foveo to download a personal copy before the 90-day access period ends.

C. Thirty (30) days before archiving
Thirty days before the recording is scheduled to be archived, Foveo sends the Family Account Holder and the funeral home’s Foveo Admin a reminder.
The message:
- Identifies the livestream recording;
- States the date on which routine access will end;
- Explains that the recording will move to Foveo’s long-term archive;

D. Seven (7) days before archiving
Seven days before archiving, Foveo sends the Family Account Holder and the funeral home’s Foveo Admin a final reminder.
The message identifies the remaining time, repeats the download instructions and advises that the recording will no longer be routinely accessible through the Family Account or funeral-home account after the archive date.

Important: These emails can only be delivered if the correct name and email address for the Family Account Holder were entered when the livestream was scheduled. Funeral homes should confirm this information before saving each new livestream.
6. What Happens After 90 Days?
At the end of the 90-day access period, the recording is transferred to Foveo’s long-term archive. It will no longer be routinely accessible through the Family Account or funeral-home account.
Archiving does not mean the recording has been deleted. It means Foveo must retrieve and transfer it by special request.
7. How to Request an Archived Recording
An archived recording may be requested by the Family Account Holder or a representative of the funeral home acting on behalf of the family.
Please send the request to directorcare@foveo.org and include the:
- Name of the deceased;
- Name of the funeral home (and location);
- Date of the livestream;
- The requester’s name and relationship to the family or funeral home; and
- The email address to which retrieval instructions should be sent.
There is currently no charge to retrieve an archived recording. Foveo may review this policy in the future if the volume or administrative demands associated with archived-recording requests become unmanageable. Any future change will be communicated before it takes effect.
Archived-recording retrieval is not immediate and can take up to 10 business days to complete. Families should, therefore, download and safely preserve a personal copy of the recording during their 90-day access period whenever possible.
Foveo’s retrievable archive includes livestream recordings captured since September 2023.
Recordings made before September 2023 are not available.
