What Changed in this new Release?
As of August 17, 2026, the latest versions of DirectorView™ are:
Android devices: 1.4.0 +1 Version 2072
Apple devices: 1.4.1 +1 Version 68
The new DirectorView™ release includes improvements in three important areas:
1. More Consistent Audio Performance
The release addresses reported instances of intermittent audio affecting some devices. The new version is intended to provide more consistent audio transmission and capture during livestream broadcasts.
2. Improved Offline Recording Uploads
DirectorView™ allows a funeral home to record a ceremony locally when a dependable internet connection is unavailable. The completed recording can then be uploaded to Foveo when the device has a suitable connection.
This release addresses reported issues that could interfere with the uploading of Offline Recordings, improving the ease of use of this important safeguard.
3. General Performance and Reliability Improvements
The release also includes additional technical improvements to support a more responsive experience and dependable operation across all supported Android and Apple devices.
What Makes DirectorView™ Different?
DirectorView™ is more than a mobile streaming-camera app. It combines livestreaming, recording, monitoring, and remote broadcast control in one application designed specifically for funeral professionals.
It is available for both major mobile platforms:
- Android devices, including supported Samsung and Google phones
- Apple iOS devices, including supported iPhones and iPads
This cross-platform flexibility allows funeral homes to use the mobile equipment that best fits their operations without giving up access to Foveo’s advanced broadcast-management features.
1. Turn your Mobile Device into a Livestreaming Camera
DirectorView™ can turn a supported phone or tablet into a mobile livestreaming camera.
This gives funeral homes the flexibility to broadcast from:
- Funeral-home chapels
- Churches and places of worship
- Cemeteries and gravesides
- Celebration-of-life venues
- Private residences
- Other locations where permanent camera equipment is unavailable
After signing in as a Camera user, select the scheduled Stream, connect the camera, and begin the broadcast from the device.
2. Monitor and Control a Broadcast Remotely
One of DirectorView™’s most distinctive capabilities is the ability to separate the camera from the person managing the broadcast.
A mobile device can be positioned as the livestreaming camera while a funeral director uses DirectorView™ on another phone to:
- Monitor the livestream remotely
- Start the scheduled broadcast
- Pause the broadcast when appropriate
- End the broadcast
- Confirm that the service is being transmitted properly
This allows a funeral director to supervise the livestream discreetly without remaining beside the camera throughout the ceremony.
It can also make staffing easier. One person can position the camera while another staff member monitors and controls the broadcast from elsewhere in the building—or from another location.
3. Check the Connection Before Going Live
A successful livestream depends on more than the number of Wi-Fi bars displayed on a phone.
DirectorView™ includes an internet-speed check that helps staff determine whether the available connection is suitable for livestreaming. This allows the funeral director to identify a weak connection before the ceremony begins and choose Offline Recording when necessary.
Staff can also perform simple pre-broadcast audio and video checks, helping confirm that the camera is positioned properly and that the sound is being captured.
4. Record Offline When Internet Is Unavailable
Some churches, cemeteries, gravesides, and remote venues do not have a dependable internet connection. DirectorView™’s Offline Recording feature provides an essential alternative.
Instead of attempting an unreliable livestream, the app can record the ceremony directly to the mobile device. The recording can then be uploaded to Foveo once a suitable connection is available, allowing the family and invited guests to watch it afterward.
The improvements included in this release are intended to make the Offline Recording upload process more reliable.
5. New: Schedule Livestreams and ID Sessions™ from the Camera Phone
The latest release introduces an important new convenience for funeral-home staff: authorized Camera users can now schedule new livestreams and ID Sessions™ directly within DirectorView™.
This means the same phone used as the livestreaming camera can now be used to:
- Schedule a new livestream
- Schedule a new ID Session™
- Review scheduled broadcasts
- Select the appropriate service
- Connect the camera
- Begin the broadcast
Staff no longer need to sign in to Foveo.app on a separate computer or mobile device before scheduling a service. This can be particularly helpful when preparing for an off-site ceremony, responding to a last-minute request, or setting up equipment away from the funeral home.
By bringing scheduling and broadcasting together on the camera phone, DirectorView™ makes it faster and simpler to manage the entire livestreaming process while on the go.
6. Update Every DirectorView™ Device Today
Every Android phone, iPhone, and iPad used with DirectorView™ should be updated to the new release.
After installing it:
- Open DirectorView™ and sign in.
- Grant the requested camera and microphone permissions.
- Select an upcoming or test Stream.
- Check the camera image and audio.
- Run an internet-speed check.
- Confirm that the device is ready before the next scheduled service.
Whenever possible, complete these steps well in advance of the ceremony.
