Keep your DirectorView™ mobile app up to date (latest updates on Nov. 15, 2024):
Android devices: Foveo 1.0.0, Version number 29
iOS devices: Foveo 1.0.40, Version number 40
Find your app's version number by signing in to DirectorView™, opening Settings (bottom right), and scrolling to the bottom.
For Android: How to update your DirectorView™ app
A. Download
1. Find and open a web browser (i.e., Chrome) on your SimplicityCam™ (or other Android device)
2. Navigate to foveo.org/dv29.apk
3. If you get a message that says, "File can't be downloaded securely," tap on Keep
4. Once the file has downloaded, tap on Open (at top), then tap Install (at bottom)
B. Installation
1. Open the .APK file you downloaded, then tap Install. Once installed, tap on Open.
2. Grant the necessary permissions when prompted: to record video "While using the app" AND to record audio "While using the app."
3. The app will then open to a white screen (it may say "Failed to load items").
4. Tap on Settings in bottom right, then tap on the navy blue Sign out button.
5. Tap on three white lines (bottom left corner), then tap on Close all
6. Relaunch the DirectorView™ mobile app and sign in with your camera's username and password
For iOS (Apple): How to update your DirectorView™ app
A. Download
1. Go to the Apple App Store and search for DirectorView (or use this link: https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/directorview/id1628678897)
B. Installation
1. Follow the prompts on your device to download and install the update.
2. After installing the update, open the app and grant any permissions requested.
3. Sign in to the app once, then tap on Settings in bottom right.
4. Tap on the navy blue Sign out button, then close all open apps on the device.
5. Relaunch the DirectorView™app and Sign in.
