You can add family tribute videos, pre-recorded eulogies, welcome videos and more to any live broadcast.
Videos are It's a meaningful way to personalize the entire broadcast experience. They are also an an excellent way to introduce online guests to your funeral business or keep them engaged while you make a transition from the chapel to graveside. In fact, our personal favorite is showing the family's photo tribute video at the conclusion of the broadcast. It's a kind, personal, and gentle way to conclude the live broadcast experience for guests.
Here's how to add a video directly to a live broadcast in two steps:
Step 1: Upload the video file
Step 2: Play the video
Important Notes:
1. The DirectorView™ mobile app does not have access to play videos during a live stream. Videos can only be integrated into the live stream broadcast if you are controlling the broadcast from the Director panel in Foveo.app (using a web browser, preferably Chrome).
2. Always start each broadcast by clicking "Go Live" and then clicking "Immediately". Do not play a video directly at the beginning of a live stream broadcast). Once a broadcast is live, you may then "Pause (the) Broadcast" and play the video you would like to show before the in-person ceremony begins. Be sure to "Resume (the) Broadcast" to return to streaming from the live camera when you are ready.
3. If you choose to play a video before first taking the broadcast live (accidentally or deliberately), you will not be able to pause or interrupt that video (you must allow enough time to play the entire video). It must play to the end before the live video will begin streaming for guests, and you may completely miss streaming and recording the first minutes of the ceremony.
Step One: Upload the Video File
1. Sign in to Foveo.app and navigate to the "Videos" panel in the left menu (go to Streams > Videos).
2. Click on the + Create button in the top right corner.
3. Give the video a Title. We recommend a short descriptive title with the video length included (ex. Jones Tribute (4:45)). The video title will never be shown publicly (only your funeral home staff can see it).
4. Click on the Video field or drag and drop the video file onto that field to add the video.
Note: Acceptable file formats include .mp4 and .mov
5. Click on Save and allow Foveo to upload and save the video file.
Note: Uploading an additional image (i.e., .jpg, .tiff, or .png) as a thumbnail for the video is optional; however, thumbnails will prevent the video from being previewed in the Director panel.
Step Two: Play the Video
If you would like to include a video as part of a live stream broadcast, you can upload videos to the Videos panel in the left menu (Streams > Videos). Once uploaded, a video can be played as part of any live stream broadcast (at the Start, End, or a Pause during the broadcast).
Note: After a video file has been uploaded, it may require up to 60 minutes of processing time before it can be successfully shown as part of a live broadcast.
A. At the Start: "Go Live"
The video will play once for online guests and then automatically present the live camera view once it has ended.
1. Click on Go Live to start the live broadcast for guests.
2. You will be given the choice to start the broadcast Immediately or Play one of the available videos you uploaded (listed by file name).
Note: It is important to ensure you have enough time to play the whole video because the live stream broadcast will not begin until a video played at the very start has finished playing. To get around this, first Go Live > Immediately, and once the broadcast is live, click the Pause Broadcast button and then select "Play [the selected video]." The video can be interrupted at any time, but will play on a loop until the broadcast is resumed (see B.3. below).
B. During a Break or Transition: "Pause" and "Resume Broadcast"
The video will play for guests on a loop until the broadcast is manually resumed with a click.
C. At the Conclusion: "End Broadcast"
The video will play once for guests and the broadcast will end automatically at the end of the video.
1. Click on End Broadcast to stop the live stream (you will not be able to restart the broadcast).
2. You will be given a choice to end Immediately or Play one of the available videos you uploaded (listed by file name).
2a. If you choose Immediately, the broadcast will be ended for guests immediately.
2b. If you choose to Play a video at the end of the broadcast, the selected video will play and the broadcast will automatically end when the video ends.
